Big Island Chapter HAPA Christmas Party

Big Island Chapter Young Professionals Event

This year HAPA established a new type of membership: Young Professionals. On November 17, 2016, we hosted our first young professional event. We invited professionals aged 35 years or younger in order to recruit new HAPA members and to connect with other young professionals in the community. We had people from different industries other than accounting including: IT, law, non-profit and education. Participants had a great time getting to know each other better thru “people bingo” and thru speed networking.

Big Island Chapter General Membership Meeting

Our first general membership meeting of the year was held on September 19, 2016 at the Hilo Hawaiian.  Walter Haig owns a winery, and year years he brings some wine for us to sample as he gives us a lesson about wine.

The board also took the opportunity to introduce the new HAPA Big Island members.

So far the Big Island Chapter has a total of 17 new members!
